This event will celebrate the braiding of Indigenous and Western knowledge systems, or "braiding knowledges", weaving together distinct ways of knowing. It is also a moment to reflect on and celebrate our learnings and successes as the Canadian Mountain Network (CMN), and to embrace the future as BKC—marking the transition from one to the other and the celebration of that transformation. This gathering will convene Indigenous organizations and communities, university researchers, government representatives, business and industry leaders, and not-for-profit partners to share and mobilize knowledge generated through Indigenous-led and co-led research initiatives. Participants can anticipate dynamic keynote presentations, thought-provoking panel discussions, and opportunities to engage with diverse voices and perspectives throughout the gathering.
